# Quickstart

From sign-in to an SSH session on a rented GPU in about five minutes.

> Early access: renting opens as GPUs come online. Until then you can sign in, set up SSH keys and agent tokens, and add funds; a rental is refused with a clear message (HTTP 503) and nothing is charged.

## 1. Sign in

Open the [console](/console/) and continue with **GitHub**, **Google** or your **email**. Every method opens the same account, and you can connect more later under **Sign-in methods**.

## 2. Add funds

Arrakis is prepaid. On **Billing**, choose an amount and pay with a card, **Link** or **Apple Pay** on Stripe's page, or request a bank transfer. Card payments add between $5 and $5,000 at a time.

> Your card details go to Stripe and never reach Arrakis.

## 3. Find a GPU

**Find GPUs** lists the machines the GPU markets list, cheapest first. Filter by model, by **GPUs per machine** (1×, 2×, 8×), by price per GPU-hour and by country.

## 4. Rent it

Click **Rent** on a machine. Pick how many of its GPUs you want, the image it starts from, and when it stops by itself. Add your SSH public key once; it's saved for next time.

The first hour is charged when you rent: every rental is billed at least one hour. Each later hour is charged as it begins.

## 5. Connect

You land on the machine's page. It shows **Paid**, then **Starting**, then **Ready to connect**, usually within 1 to 3 minutes. Copy the SSH command:

```sh
ssh root@<host> -p <port>
```

## 6. Stop it

**Stop now** ends it at once (the hour it's in is already paid), or **Stop later** picks a time. A machine with an auto-stop removes itself on schedule.
